As an Elon University Love School of Business graduate I have extensive training in all aspects of business including Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. In addtion I have excellent written and oral communication skills from outside courses and previous tutoring experience.
Though I have no official experience as a tutor, being the oldest of three children there was always an oppurtunity to help with homework. Because I am a Business major, I tend to like to work with only numbers. But my tutoring career began with kids that were below grade level in reading. So I used my business mindset to give my young clients(students) stories that were of interest to them and I made sure that the stories were easy reading and I gradually got the kids to read "at grade level". You also must find their passion. With this information (passion and learning style), you can help any student succeed. Many of my students have been considered as slow, but once I began working with them, I realized that they just lacked the basic skills.
