I have more than 10 years teaching as a lead teacher in Christian school setting for PreK through Kindegarten; I have 3 years experience as a Substitute teacher for Grades through 12 in Columbus city Schools and surrounding districts; one year of which was spent with students with developmental disabilities. I worked as a Title I remedial teacher for 1 year and as a school tutor for 2 years preparing students for mandated school testing. I have 3 years experience as a private tutor preparing high school and college students for testing; and modifying curriculum for students from Kdg to 12th grade due to academic struggles and disabilities.

I graduated from Ohio University in 1978 with a BS in Education. I went on to earn a Masters degree in Educational Administration. I hold two valid permanent teaching certificates and a professional license. I have been fortunate to have taught all grades and all subjects with the exception of 1st, 3rd, and 4th. I have also had the pleasure of being an ABLE instructor for adults. I am currently teaching high school, however have been offered a 4th grade position in math and science. I have worked with gifted, regular, and special education students. I continue to take classes at Ohio and Ashland University. Also, I am a Teaching Fellow for the Historical Society. As a father of three, I love to teach through example. As much as possible, I love to use practical illustrations to emphasize points and to give the child/student a better understanding of its application. I tend to learn best visually and through repetition and would incorporate that style into my teaching efforts. My goal in teaching would be patience, demanding but considerate, firm but fair. While I was working on my Bachelors degree I worked at the college as an accountant. I turtored fellow classmates on subjects they were having problems with and I also tutored children in grade school who needed assistance. I am very good with math, english, public speaking and history. I love working with children and teaching them new things. I have worked with many children of all ages in different areas from math, english, and history and helped them be successful. I believe it is important for children to learn and understand what they are studying to be successful.
