I have always worked well with children because I enjoy their capacity to learn. I am drawn to students who feel they are incapable of excelling in subject areas in which they struggle. I also have a gift of working with students who have behavioral challenges and/or special needs to due to a disability. My AA in Early Childhood helped me to understand how the brain develops and how people learn and how to utilize the stages of development in educating people. I have always been passionate about working with different students and finding their unique learning strategies. I am supportive and very patient, but persistent in the achieving success for the student. My ultimate goal is above teaching subjects. It is to provide the student with a love for learning and the skills needed in tackling academic tasks. Having graduated with a BS in Mathematics I am now continuing my passion for learning while pursuing a masters degree in Nurse Anesthesia. I hold a Ph.D. in Classics, a multidisciplinary field that focuses on all aspects of the ancient Greek and Roman world. I have mastered Latin and Ancient Greek, and can read Spanish, German, French, and Italian. During my five years working full-time at various universities, I taught literature, history, mythology, archeology, and all levels of Greek and Latin. My expertise in English grammar, and in reading, writing, and organizational skills, is evident in the book and article that I have published. Math, moreover, was always a strong point for me, and I am very good at helping elementary school students in that area.
