My teaching style is to come from a place of respect and caring for the student. I will never strip a student of their dignity. I love teaching and relating to young people. As I work with a student, supporting and encouraging them, I help them move forward in ability and knowledge, as they become more competent and confident, gaining their own momentum. After graduation from App. State, I traveled across much of the US as a professional musician. I have teaching experience with both adults and childeren in both classical music and church music. I also have experience in recording as a producer and arranger. I enjoy teaching both children and adults, from beginners on up to future music majors. Each student is unique, so I try to adapt my instruction to take advantage of each students strenghts. Those strengths may be musical background, ability to play by ear, strong theory skills, and so on. I also enjoy teaching different musical skills such as: Theory, ear training, and arranging.
