I am extremely patient and clear. In my mind, there is no such thing as someone who cannot learn; it is my job to adjust my teaching style for multiple learning styles. Because I also have experience working with special needs clients as well as clients in rehabilitation, I am especially capable of dealing with more challenging learning situations. My experience in tutoring began in high school when I volunteered for my local library, in a program aimed towards improving students’ reading ability. Having had considerable difficulty learning to read myself, I felt it was important that I attempt to pass this on to others. When I entered Knox College I was focusing on English, and ended up helping my fellow students with writing and editing their papers.
