My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : I took Honors Pre-Calculus in eleventh grade and received an A+ for my hard work. Performing so well in this course allowed me to skip AP Calculus AB and move straight onto AP Calculus BC the following year. These concepts were again used in AP Calculus BC, so I know them very well and can explain them effectively.

Teaching new concepts, practice applying the new material, review, and more practice of the material to solidify the concepts.
I have helped my classmates and have had one official student as of this summer. However, I have learned how to explain concepts so that students dont just memorize, they will gain a thought process and applicable knowledge that will enable them to solve even the most complex problems. Having this mentality of preparation and success will being them to reach their goals.

Prior to becoming an HSE Instructor, I tutored youth in a juvenile detention center. Currently, work for Dutchess Community College teaching HSE. I attained my first degree in Supply Chain Management from Syracuse University in 2003. After working in that field for a few years, however, I chose to change my career path. I then went back to school at the City College of New York to pursue a degree in Civil Engineering. Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it!
