My philosophical foundation of teaching reflects on my own learning experiences during my undergraduate and graduate coursework. During much of those higher learning opportunities, my professors utilized a very respectful perspective towards all students, and this background of having role models has instilled in me the importance of meeting the learner at their current level of needing assistance in order to find academic success. Throughout my school experience, I have been a top performer. I attended a "gifted" program in elementary school. I was the Valedictorian at Hagerstown Junior/Senior High School in Hagerstown, Indiana. I received a full-tuition scholarship to the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. There, I majored in Economics and was a tutor for Micro- and Macroeconomics students my junior and senior years. My economics degree gave me a broad understanding of mathematics (I took Statistics and Calculus I-III), but also gave me experience in technical writing.
