Graduated with three degrees in 2012 from Arizona State University. I am a native to Arizona and I went to high school at Horizon in Scottsdale, Arizona. I went on to three community colleges taking classes at Paradise Valley, Glendale, and graduated in 2001 with my Associates degree from Phoenix College. In 1999-2000, I provided highly individualized, one-on-one instruction in the client's homes while working with a local tutoring company. Teach students how to think, not what to think.

My teaching style is Socratic. Inquiry and discussion are my primary tools. I also teach history as an argument about the past for the students to develop rather than a set of facts and dates to be memorized. I try to teach without assigning homework.
I am currently enrolled at Northern Arizona University. Math Science and History

I got 760 in my PSAT test I tutored my geometry teachers son and raised him from failing to a b level in 4 months. I got my CSET in History and Chemistry. I have all my crendentile classes done at CSULB. I left Long Beach before i could do my student teaching. In my Geometry class my teacher would have problems on his board and call on three or four students to try before he had me do it.

My comments on tutoring World History : Learning world history, not only from a text book, but also from life experiences from traveling the world, history teaches us, so that we do not commit the same mistakes of the past or past generations.

I am a hands on type of a tutor, I start from the basics and work my way up to their current subjects, so that they can build on a good foundation, understanding the basics is the most critical step to understanding the complexities of Algebra and above, and how the sciences start to get more complex in human anatomy and physiology.
In my years of education, I found that some of the methods used for teaching these subjects were inadequately explained, therefore causing students not to truly understand how to apply mathematics and science in school and their every day life. I find that teaching works best if you tailor the material to your audience - i.e. you don't want to lose them OR bore them. Use what they know as a foundation to build on to teach new concepts. If material is difficult or unfamiliar to your class it's important to be prepared in advance with several approaches to get the material across. Review material periodically to reinforce confidence in the students and always make sure they have a firm grasp on material before moving on.
