Hello! I started tutoring two years ago and I love it! After spending my career working as a CPA and Corporate Controller and Job-Cost Accountant, I found tutoring! This allows me to put my vast experience to work and assist students to understand Accounting and Math. I also spent some time working and volunteering at my children's school. During this time, I worked in the Library and also listened to scores of students practice their reading. CPA Makes Accounting Understandable

I am careful to provide what the students want. Because private tutoring can be costly, some students just want help with the homework. However, the students that need a good grade and a solid grasp on the discipline of accounting appreciate that I can patiently teach and illustrate and reinforce each principle and process.

I'm a certified Air Force Instructor with two years of experience as a Unit Training Manager. I have 3 years of experience teaching adults how to build computers and install/configure operating systems and applications.
I find that teaching works best if you tailor the material to your audience - i.e. you don't want to lose them OR bore them. Use what they know as a foundation to build on to teach new concepts. If material is difficult or unfamiliar to your class it's important to be prepared in advance with several approaches to get the material across. Review material periodically to reinforce confidence in the students and always make sure they have a firm grasp on material before moving on.

My method is to reach students exactly where there at and use methods that would stimulate all types of learners . Once I was teaching a group of sixth graders who would be entering Algebra soon. I gave them a true life math example. Our equasion; a party with the number of students, quantity of different items and costs. When we devided the items their costs with the number of students we came up with how much each student had to pitch in. In this example I had some items that were to be used and they were able to touch them. I also told them very clearly what was going on while I was writing it all down. This stimulated many different learning types
