Currently a sophomore in High School, I'm looking to tutor up to around the 6-7th grade levels. I have very much experience in science especially. Currently in biology Honors. Math, Science, Civics, and Art are my main specialties. For a cheaper rate, I also love to teach art. Also language-wise. I have a year of French, as well as a semi-year of Spanish that I can teach beginners, perhaps give them a head start on what is to be in High School. Drawing is one of my top subjects! I have been drawing with various types of pencil since about the ninth grade. I can't exactly explain why but drawing seemed to come to me as naturally as breathing. As with Sketchup, I have learned several methods for drawing over many years that most will find very beneficial to drawing an accurate likeness, especially with regard to portraiture of people and pets.

My teaching style is one that can easily appeal to elementry students because I keep subjects interesting and fun while also being seriouse to help make sure that the students understand what is needed to be learned and understood.
I am currently a senior in high school and will graduate in the spring of 2013; I have no job experience, but have worked with tutoring my nieces and nephews. Each individual learns in a different manner. Some students are visual learners, while others are better served by a hands-on environment. Using varied instructional strategies is a technique I have practiced when working with students who are struggling with a particular concept or subject matter. The key to learning is to be engaged in and excited about the learning process. If a student is struggling with a particular subject, establishing a connection to that subject is essential. By learning about the student and his or her interests, the educator has a better opportunity to engage and excite that student. This engagement and excitement will only lead to academic success.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.
I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.

I attended Kean University in Union, New Jersey. From this institution I graduated in January 2009 with honors and a Bachelor's Degree in special education. During my time at the university, my studies focused on teaching as well as providing various types of support for students with learning, behavior, and emotional disabilities. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Heidelberg College in 2004 with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a Reading concentration. From there I worked as a substitute teacher until getting my own classroom in 2006 I taught 3rd grade from January 2006 until June 2008. I left that position to pursue other career options.
