As a Purdue graduate, I was the recipient of the highest level of instruction in math and science. As an undergraduate I was named on the Dean’s list six times and was inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. In order to be granted this degree I was required to gain a great understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have been on the cutting edge of computer science from the first hand held calculators. I can program in FORTRAN, Assembly, Basic, Pascal, and C languages, on a variety of platforms. After working as an engineer for 20 years, I then pursued a teaching license and have taught High School math for the last decade. I enjoy teaching and working with all children. Not all of us can be the “Star Athlete”, but we can all learn the rules of the game. All children can learn.

I have an engineering background with a BS and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. An engineering degree requires a significant background in math and science. While in college I had such a love for math that I took math classes as electives and became a math tutor for college math. My most recent experience is that of an Instructor in math and science. I convey to each student a never give up attitude and show confidence in their ability to understand the material. Each problem will be explained to the student and I will encourage every student to ask questions. After the student gains confidence in working problems together then I will have the student work a similar problem by themselves to confirm their level of understanding. After the student works the problem I will go over it and correct any mistakes in their work .

As a homeschooler from fifth grade through high school, I learned the value of personalized instruction. My passion for learning the sciences led me to a double major in chemistry and mechanical engineering.
