I would like to share my experience with the people I teach on how to use many of the short cuts in both math and physics for a better understanding of the topics covered. Also I encourage students to do as many practice problems as possible; I believe with enough practice, everyone can become experts even at the difficult topics. The education that I have received in Biology and Chemistry enabled me to develop excellent skills not only in many of the life sciences and physics but also math. I truly enjoy teaching basic physics and mathematics and have been told I am pretty good at it. One of my greatest strengths is the ability to explain a concept in different ways, as of course, people don’t all learn the same way. There’s nothing more rewarding than finding the right explanation and watching the light bulb come on when a student grasps a concept with which they were struggling. I am currently in my first year teaching in Indianapolis. I am a licensed Biology teacher although I have a strong math and science background. Every child wants to learn, although a more creative design may be needed to find a child's greatest potential. Patience, consideration, and encouraging words are simple tasks to help the self esteem of children in a child's education. With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school".
