A Little Bit About Me...

I thoroughly enjoy working with students, and provide fun yet focused tutoring. I hold a Masters degree in Linguistics, and have teaching experience for students of all ages, in various settings, including as a substitute teacher in public schools, a full-time teacher of ESL at the University of Iowa, an adjunct ESL teacher at Northern Virginia Community College, and ESL/SAT tutor with a private company. I most often teach English, Communications, and Writing skills to students. I am friendly and make students feel very comfortable, and am great at getting them motivated.
I first like to understand the student's learning style, as we all have different methods of learning. Some are visual, others do better with reading a text, or using examples. Most of what I teach is enhanced by my approach to helping the student learn. I seek to ask them to "teach" me by offering questions to them.
