A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching kids. All kids can are different in the way they learn. you need to be able to recognize those kids who are auditory learners, and hands on learners and be able to make a good balance of both so both kids may benefit. I like to set goals for each tutor session weather it be something like learning the alphabet or knowing you first ten multiplication facts. You then need to set one long term goal for that child to reach. this way each day they feel as if they have succeeded and learned something. I hope i can be an educator who can make just a little difference in children's lives.

I have earned a paraprofessional certification through the Box Elder School District. I have extensive training through Americorps. I have successfully developed a reading program for Adele C. Young Intermediate School ages 6th and 7th grade. I have had the privilege of spending many hours with struggling readers helping to build their reading levels and comprehension skills. I worked at the Brigham City Library for 6 years and Utah State University for 2 years as a facilitator.
I absolutely love reading and enjoy working with children. I take great pride in helping a child who is struggling with reading to see them improve daily. I am very patient and kind. I think that a child really thrives with the one on one interaction and I believe that all children want to succeed, though they all learn differently.
