My comments on tutoring Drawing : I received my bachelor of fine arts degree in Studio Arts and Graphic Design, so I am confident teaching any style or use of medium in Drawing.

I go as fast or as slow as the student needs. I encourage students to try new techniques and ideas so they are self-aware of the process and learning experience that leads to self-improvement and development.
During the school year, I work as a curriculum coordinator and art teacher for an after school program in Lexington, Ma. This is my 6th year of teaching stimulating and unique art projects to children in grades K-5. I have interned as a graphic designer and also had jobs as a wedding photographer. During the summer, I work as an assistant director to a summer enrichment program in Winchester, Ma. Outside of work- I am a member at large of the Boston Guild of Puppeteers, and also work on my own art which includes building my portfolio of paintings to show and sell, as well as complete small digital photography jobs.

A Little Bit About Me...

I like to get to the point of certain problems, such as reading the child/student when I see them, ask them some questions about the subjects they need help in and why they need help. I have worked with Infants-School age for over 5 years, and enjoy being there to help someone in need. I believe in giving back, because so many of us are blessed already.
As an early childhood teacher, I have had several opportunities to help children (school age), to do homework. I also was a tutor in high school to a boy for just Algebra, which then turned around to being all of his subjects and helping him keep on track. The hardest thing for me was that he had only lived in the U.S. for four years, and had trouble speaking English. After each session of tutoring, I would grab the Scrabble board, which encouraged him to use more words, learn new words, and have fun while doing so.

My style of art is hands on and viewer participations. After recieving my master's degree in Visual Art; I started teaching youngsters in the museum classes, Boston Children's Museum, Worceser Art Museum, and Fitchburg Art Museum. My classes are almost always full. Also, I have been a teacher's aide at a middle school in Leicester, Massachusetts. I was working as a Transitional Specialist out of Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham, Massachusetts as well.

I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons. I helped students with a variety of subjects such as science, math, social studies, geography, and even organizational skills. A Little Bit About Me...

I had the opportunity to begin my teaching career in Miami, Florida. I taught 4th & 5th graders at a private academy. I was able to learn much from my students who represented more than 15 different countries. My semester immersion experience in Costa Rica helped me to understand my students and their families better. While in Miami I tutored 5 different aged children, in various home and school settings.
