I have always been driven by helping others. I graduated college and got into the environmental testing field as a chemist. I have been doing this for 6 years. I am currently working towards my certification to becoming a chemistry, physics and math teacher.
I know that every student learns differently; so as a teacher, I must find the best way to teach each student and transfer that into my lessons, so that all the students get involved. I love tutoring and working with children to young adults. The internet provides a lot of information but the joy of going to the library to discover new worlds, knowledge or just for the fun of it is still a worthwhile venture. Tutoring should be a tool used to complement traditional education. When tutoring there is little help in providing information to the student the same way that the teacher presents it. Tutors may also fall into the trap of simply giving the student the answers. For these reasons I prefer an holistic approach to tutoring. Every student is different and they all have different ways of understanding the material.
