I have a hands-on approach to teaching. It is my desire to facilitate a student's own ability to self-teach, to solve and understand new problems as they occur. I love to draw and teach art!

I have been drawing since childhood and have taught drawing as well as many other aspects of art. Graphite, pen & ink, pastel,charcoal, colored pencil and marker are my most frequently used mediums. My comments on tutoring Drawing : I have the natural ability to draw since childhood and keep with it for the sake of enjoyment. I take after the fantasy art style of my favorites (e.g.) Frank Frazetta, Boris Vallejo, John Bama, and Simon Bizley.

My teaching style is mostly lecture. However, I always believe what works best is what they taught me in the Navy, that in order to truly learn how to do something then you must "see one, do one, and teach one." In other words, you must see how one does it, do it yourself, and then teach someone else.
Drawing has been a private joy in my life. I have not used such a talent to support myself financially nor have I continued my education in drawing (i.e.) computer graphics,etc. etc. I believe such talent is first to be used for personal enjoyment before marketability. Drawing is to be used for the revelation of one's own vision of the world and people and through imagination beyond either. Therefore, the only experience I have is personal. I've always been a doodler. I began my professional debut as a free-lance editorial artist in 1992, while the national election raged on between then-president George H.W. Bush, Ross Perot and a young fellow from Arkansas, Bill Clinton. My caricatures loomed through the pages of the Salinas Californian for about two (2) years. At about the same time, I was a contributing artist for our church's newspaper, Maranatha. I have had the honor in having my caricatures displayed in the Houston Astroworld Six Flags amusement park before they closed their doors. I have been drawing hundreds of people throughout Texas and Arkansas through festivals or special events.
I put them on the spotlight from day one. Nobody gets to "hide" because I pick on everyone.
