When training employees, my teaching style has always been to learn by doing. I believe that people do best in learning a new task when one explains the task before doing, then shows how to do the task while explaining, and then asks the trainee to do the task with guidance. The same goes for teaching an academic subject - explain how it is done, show a couple of examples while explaining, and then ask them to try with guidance. If this method of teaching is not working for a particular student, I will adapt my teaching to fit his/her needs. I believe that every person has the ability to learn any subject; one just needs to find the method in order to keep them interested and absorbing information. Being someone who likes to see the "big picture" of concepts and ideas, I struggled through math as a child, believing that I didn't understand it. I have been out of school for a few years, but I am always willing to help out anyone who had a question, and If I can help them out it's all the better. I graduated from California State University at San Francisco. While there I mastered my major of accounting as well as my minor in economics. I have over ten years' experience in all facets of accounting, audit and taxation. I have always been an exceptional mathematics student and my chosen field has enabled me to remain very strong in this area. I spent one year tutoring accounting students who had difficulty grasping the basic concepts of accounting.
