Chemistry is one of my top subjects!

I am a graduate with a Master of Science degree from Montana State University in Organic Chemistry with previous research experience in a number of various Chemistry labs (Organic, Computational, Inorganic and Analytical) as well as internship experience with a major pharmaceutical company. As a peer-leader during my undergraduate years, and, most recently as a graduate teaching assistant, I have 4+ years of experience helping students with lab reports and one-on-one tutoring. More About This Tutor...

I discover the level of the learning ability of the student and begin at that level. I then work upwards combining a multiple tasking formula. I also provide vocabulary and concept enhancement because I believe if one understands the words of the science, one can understand the science more clearly. I also make sure that basic math skills are not the limiting factor in the students's failure to succeed in mastering the science.
Experience teaching or tutoring: substitute teacher for high schools in approximately 6 unified school districts; student taught undergraduates in college while an undergraduate myself; took classes in tutoring while in college; tutored undergraduates in astronomy and chemistry; currently a part-time substitute teacher at the local school district.

I have always had the firm belief that educating is not done to pass a test or to achieve some other short term goal but is instead to provide students with tools so they can attain success for themselves. My goal, at any level of education is to uncover and embrace the individuals learning style to provide the groundwork and those tools necessary for success no matter the subject of interest.
