Teaching at any level is my passion. I always want to serve my community by sharing my knowledge and expertise, To fulfill my desire I did my BS with triple major Chemistry, Zoology and Botany, Then did my Master in chemistry and after working as research chemist I started my Ph.D and completed my course work and research on environmental pollution study and submitted my Thesis in Punjab university Lahore Pakistan, I have been in the field of chemistry for many years. I Taught chemistry at different campuses of Portland community colleges, and got very good evaluation from my students at the end of each trimester. I also worked as research analytical chemist by using ICP/MS, GC, AAS UV/VIS spectrophotometer per EPA methods and NELAC regulations. I represented several research papers in conferences. As a pre-med student I strove for excelllence in my undergraduate education at Azusa Pacific University. My course work was broadly based in chemistry and biology. Directly after graduating I was hired by Faith Bible High School to teach Anatomy and Physiology for the 2008-2009 school year. In the 2009-2010 school year I have taught psychology as a science elective. For the 2010-2011 school year I will be teaching two sections of Anatomy and Physiology. I am also a graduate student in the Center for Science Education working towards my masters in science teaching, earning my endorsement in Biology.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about science. I feel that everyone has an ability to do well in science. I love to make content relevant to my student's lives. After spending 20 years in school, I have learned how to study for just about anything. My undergraduate experience was weighted equally between the science classes necessary for entry into veterinary school, and my passion for the written word, which I pursued through the Oregon State University Honor's college. Veterinary school reinforced my knowledge in all the life sciences, in addition to honing my study skills.
As a tutor, my goal will be to improve understanding of and appreciation for the subject matter, in addition to providing tools for effective self-study. I have taught courses in General Biology, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Ecology and a graduate course in Limnology. At Portland State I was also involved in a research program to improve student outcomes. I still don't have my times tables memorized but can demonstrate difficult fractions and imaginary numbers to others. My experience in laboratory, design and classroom settings allows me to illustrate complex concepts meaningfully. I enjoy working one-on-one to help facilitate deeper understanding.
