I have tutored kids at my Church whenever someone has needed help. I am very patient and understanding of how frustrating certain topics can be, so I know I am a great candidate for tutoring. I am exceptionally great with younger kids who have ADD or ADHD since I have struggled with that myself. I know exactly how it feels to have a hard time focusing, so I would really be able to help any child with this struggle.

I passed the ASVAB and served in the Marine Corp from October 2004 to October 2008. I was a motor transport operator. I served two tours in Iraq. I am a leader and believe that I will be a great asset to helping others in their desire to join the military. As a graduate of a small junior college I believe one on one teaching gives students the advantage over a large group because the child can receive the necessary attention for learning skills in reading, writing and math. Many children learn differently some are visual learners,some are audio etc. I have been instructed through various techniques in reading with chilldren that will help them achieve a higher reading level of success. I am a hands on person where math is concerned allowing the child to use mannipulatives. Taking time to explain until they understand. In reading we can do shared reading and other techniques.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping people achieve their goals. I try to find things that the kids enjoy and incorporate those things into my teaching style. I give the students plenty of time to figure out the answer and do not get frustrated with them if it takes them awhile. When the students get a correct answer, I praise them and try to boost their confidence.
As a recent college graduate, I understand the time and commitment it takes to achieve success in school. I earned a bachelor degree in chemistry with a minor in liberal arts. As a member of the chemistry honor society, I tutored students in chemistry during my college career.
