I took a job working at the school library and was paid to help students with research and writing. Last year, I finished my first screenplay entitled "For Sale by Owner", a thesis, and my original TV pilot, which I helped produce at the school. Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor. I have tutored for 3 years while I worked for Tryon Elementary school. I had great success with the students I worked with, in particular concerning math. I believe that involving the student with as much hands on learning as possible, helps them in being able to relate with and withold what they are learning. Also paying attention when there are areas of struggle for the student and focusing attention on them.
