I have worked in virtually all areas of accounting, except auditing and income taxes. My experience has been gained over the last forty-three years in a variety of businesses. The types of businesses ranged from lodging to manufacturing. Postions ranged from accountant to Controller and supervising personnel from two to forty. I am able to explain technical aspects of accounting in lay terms and illustrations, so that non accountants can understand. I explain parts of accounting as they relate to the overall affect to the finanacial records.

I am certified to teach in both California and Texas in a K-8th grdae classroom. In California I taught in a self contained 5th grade classroom. In Texas I taught 7th grade math. I also hold a supplementary credential in California for Business. I am a strong believer in teaching a student how to learn. By that I mean, students not only need to know a specific subject matter but also how to aquire and use knowledge. My background is mostly in math and it is what I enjoy teaching the most. I like to use manipulatives to teach. I think students learn better if they have a "hands-on" approach.
