I received my M.A.+56 Credit Hours (G.P.A. 3.7) from IU Bloomington. I am fluent in French. I have been teaching at both college (IU Bloomington,Butler University,IU Kokomo, Universite de Pau)and high school level, and have been tutoring for the past 22 years. Overseas experience. Certified in the State of Indiana.
Teaching is my vocation. I am a very demanding but also very patient, and considerate teacher. Always loving French, I majored in the language and excelled during my Study Abroad experience. Upon graduation, returning abroad for furthering my cultural awareness and perfecting my language ability has been my goal. While here I have had two English tutoring groups, and have learned much not only about how I learn a language, but whats strengths others have as well.
I greatly enjoy spending time with children, specifically seeing their areas of growth. Each learning experience is a moment of joy and excitement for them, and it is wonderful to be a part of that process. I am patient, flexible, and strive to make the learning experience as fun as possible, considering learning another language takes place best in an easygoing and laid back environment. With a degree from Purdue University and continuing on to get a degree in engineering, I am engaged in many areas of science and math. Even at a young age I taught my younger sister basic mathematical and reading skills even before she entered kindergarten; we called it "school". The youngest, my brother, in which we are both diagnosed with ADHD, is amazing. I quickly learned to be patient with him when helping with his homework because I can see the same frustration on his face I had at his age when trying to concentrate on a difficult task.
Every child wants to learn, although a more creative design may be needed to find a child's greatest potential. Patience, consideration, and encouraging words are simple tasks to help the self esteem of children in a child's education.
