While in high school and college I have always held a passion with working with children. While enrolled in college I volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club near my university. When volunteering I assisted kids with Reading, Writing, and Math homework they may have after school hours. Upon graduating, I worked as a Reading Tutor. My job was to provide skills to improve reading and comprehension skills.
When working with children one on one or in groups, I personally like to get to know the child on a level that will help me understand which type of teaching method to use. All children learn on different levels and different ways.

I have been educating people since 1987. I began in music education, which I taught successfully for 9 years, and also taught piano lessons. I then worked in special education for 1 year as an educational technician, where I tutored math, reading, and students with severe disabilities. My teaching career began at Lyndon State College in Vermont. During my time at Lyndon, I was able to participate in many internships. Lyndon put me into the school systems/districts as early as my sophomore year. While obtaining my education degree, I also became very interested in psychology due to the nature of some of my students. Along with Education, I also obtained a Liberal Studies degree with a concentration in Psychology. I graduated Lyndon with the "Most Outstanding Senior" Award in the Education department.
