I'm currently a BYU student studying Elementary Education. I will graduate with the TESOL and Dual Immersion French teaching endorsements. I have been studying French for 8 years and plan to teach in a French immersion school when I graduate. I have been volunteering as a classroom aid (in both English and immersion settings)for 5 years. I also lived in France for 10 months where I spent time teaching elementary aged students both in English and in French. I have a passion for the language and for teaching subject material through it.
I prefer to teach French the immersion way by speaking only French with your student and making the input comprehensible through gestures and actions.

I have been involved with the National Program I Can READ for 2 years I helped k-3rd graders improve reading skills/ I was lucky enough to be staff(and a volunteer) for the boys and girls club for 1 year.I have helped in many local elementary schools with reading. I was the main tutor for Preschool-1st grade at the American Fork literacy Center for 6 years(I volunteered for 9)
I have always had a passion for teaching . I do not have a degree but I do have 20+ years experience. I think reading and learning should always be FUN so I try to make it fun by echo reading/funny flash cards/. All of my DAR(dream achieve read) students know that reading can take you places

I have worked with the lights on program at the elementary helping children with home work. I read to them , helped them read, and worked on spelling lists. I have always helped my siblings with their homework. In 2007 I worked with a group home for girls. They went to school during the day. I helped them with as much as I was capable of. I have helped disabled adults and children to understand simple things. I am good a explaining difficult subjects so children understand them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I worked at a girls scout camp as a counselor. I taught these girls many things about life and about the importance of learning and improving yourself. I have been a counselor at an elementary school and helped in the classroom. Also, I have have been a babysitter for years and helped children with school work, piano, dancing, and much more.
My teaching style is to be supportive and of course helpful; but most importantly, a great listener. children will improve of they are be listened to, not always being taught to.
