Inspired Educational Help!

I consider myself a very patient tutor, which I think is essential to the process. That said, I usually offer the student a few options in which to learn the material. I then let them decide which option makes the most sense to them. I believe Education and learning is a very personal process, which is why it should be tailored to each individual differently. *I am available to help with homeschooling students. Please contact me for more details!

When I substitute for a teacher, I want to see a lesson plan. I do not want to be the classroom babysitter. If there is no plan for the day I involve the students in making one. I'm currently working on obtaining my teaching certificate, to go along with my bachelors degree in Social Science. Hopefully, I will be able to go on to receive my Masters in Education. I have been able to tutor students in reading, sentence structure, English and American history.
I love teaching and interacting with today's young kids. They fascinate me. Every child has different learning systems and sometimes it takes several tries to reach that special spot that opens the child's eyes to what excites them about learning. The thrill that I feel when that point is found and theirs, (And my, excitement,)grows. There is no feeling in the world like that!

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taken education classes at Northern Kentucky University. At one point, I was considering on being a Art Teacher. I didn't finish with that path, but I did gain much experience with children and knowledge during that time in working with students. I have worked and studied special needs children as well. I still consider going back for a Master's at some point in education. I think this job would be beneficial in my goals, and for my students, and a great learning experience for us both.
I am not overbearing. I am laid back, but at the same time, I make sure that the student learns what he/she needs to learn. I am very patient. I try to respect the student and not make learning seem like a chore. Building a foundation of learning skills, even during a short tudoring session can really change a student's approach in all of their classes.

I have a friendly teaching style; I use a lot of sense of humor. But, this takes a lot of hard work to achieve. The reason I am able to teach French grammar in a non-intimidating, almost very relaxing way, is because I had to master it. I have a way of getting closer to my students and to their difficulties by having the ability to relate almost every chapter I introduce to my personal experiences. And, I have anecdotes almost about any new topic I present. I am a story teller in that sense. Sometime my students beg me to tell them more anecdotes. I tell them if they want to hear more stories, they have to do this, or that. And almost always agree with smiles that seem to say “you got us!”
I am a French native speaker. I gave private tutoring lessons at the University Language Center to adults and their families as well as students preparing for the Graduate Proficiency Test (GPT) ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I adapt to the student. In my experience with several students is that they all need a different approach. I like to use examples to explain things to my students for example a video game or sports. I am a patient teacher but demand all of a student's attention.
My education and experience has led me all over the world providing companies with my skills as an analyst and consultant. After earning my BAs in English and History, I wanted to explore the world. I taught English in Korea, Italy, and finally China. I taught in several settings including classroom, individual tutoring, business meetings, and summer camp. My undergraduate education was focused in English and History. I am currently earning my masters degree in Business Administration.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in social studies education with honors in 1988. I taught world history, government and economics for most of the 1988-89 school year. I then returned to college and earned a BS in journalism. After a number of years as a news reporter/editor and work in other areas, I took a teaching position with the Cincinnati Job Corps Center, teaching math and basic algebra to high-school dropouts with minimal skills.
My teaching style is very simple. I teach one step at a time until it is mastered by the student, then I move on to the next step. I do not move ahead until a student can display that they know the exact processes or information needed to succeed in the next phase. I am highly patient and I personally sympathize with any student who is having difficulty in any subject. I get great satisfaction in seeing a student pr ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

In 1984 and 1985, I taught for two years in the Lebanon, OH, Christian School, grades 4,5, & 6. For the past 10 years I have been teaching in the Weekend Degree Program at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. I am an adjunct professor in the Theology Department and teach Theological Foundations to non-traditional students. Besides teaching principles of faith and religion and world religions, I emphasize the art of dialogue as a way to communicate and to interact with others - actually, as a lifestyle.
I simply ADORE teaching, either children or adults. The 4th, 5th & 6th graders I taught in Lebanon Christian school loved and learned from me. I was successful in making their learning material interesting and learnable. The class I teach at XU is one of the most popular classes in the Weekend Degree Program. As I said above, I emphasize the art of dialogue, which includes a ... read more

I would make a great tutor because I am still a student myself. I am in my last semester of law school and hold a BA in English. I have been a student my entire adult life and have a good grasp on many subjects. I am very down to earth and friendly and love working with children of all ages. I am not fluent in French but took a lot of French in high school and college. Also, I am a very good writer and have excellent grammar skills.
I am very down to earth and like to take things seriously. I think most people respond the best to positive reinforcement; however, I know how to be serious. I am very good at explaining things because I like to have things explained to me in detail. I am very professional and polite and am good at making people feel comfortable around me. For me, education is very important and it is important to stay on top of the game. In order to do this y ... read more

Teaching children and adults is my life's work. I believe not only can all children learn but I believe all children can excel, if given the motivation and inspiration. I also believe that if children learn to love learning, they will excel in all that they strive to achieve. I believe in making learning relevant and interesting. I am adaptable in my style and approach in education. Due to the fact that our children are all unique, I believe their educators should develop, within their own styles, an approach that is unique for each of their students. I hold high expectations for each of my students but all of my expectations are attainable for the student and I help them to achieve those expectations in excellence.
I have always worked well with children because I enjoy their capacity to learn. I am drawn to students who feel they are incapable of excelling in subject areas ... read more
