I have always loved to teach children because it excites me to see them really grasp a concept, and overcome a hurdle they thought was beyond their reach. Each child has so much potential-far greater than any of us give them credit for when we first meet them! I've always been drawn to the creativity and knowledge needed to use writing in very powerful and effective ways. I earned my bachelor's degree, taking classes that focused on writing for both stage and screen as well as a multitude of writing and reading comprehension classes in a wide range of subjects both academic and creative: theatre, english, literature, poly-sci, astronomy, anthropology, journalism, etc. While my education might suggest I'm only a playwright or poet, my extensive training has been extremely academic as well.
