My comments on tutoring Calculus II : Took Calculus as a undergraduate physics major and use it on a daily basis.

Began as a Teaching Assistant (TA) in the Michigan Technological Universities (MTU) physics department as a physics lab TA for 3 years. Then I helped develop an Astronomy Lab and was the lab TA for a year. I then was a TA for a large lecture physics class for engineering students where I helped students on a 1-1 basis and helped the professor manage the class. In my final years as a Masters student at MTU, I helped run the online astronomy class and was the TA, grader, and developer of the assignments. Since moving to the University of Utah, I have been a TA for another large lecture class where I ran smaller sections for students to come and ask questions and get homework help. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with a mathematics undergraduate degree in 1998, I have continued to study all areas of mathematics for the last 12 years. I have passed numerous actuarial exams that cover advanced mathematic topics as well as becoming a charterholder in the CFA Institute in 2009. I would love the opportunity to pass on my enjoyment of mathematics to others. I tutored extensively during my college years and feel I have a lot to offer the students of today.
I enjoy teaching and working with all children. I grew up as a teacher's son and now I am a teacher's husband so I have experience exploring different methods to help children learn. A Little Bit About Me...

At the University of Tampa I earned a BS in Biochemistry. While completing my degree I became knowledgeable in many areas of math and science. I also gained skills in grammar while writing research papers, lab reports, and essays in various classes. I worked in the academic center for excellence on campus for two years tutoring fellow students in chemistry, biology, genetics, and mathematics.
I love to help people, and I thrive in relationships with others that leave a meaningful impression on both the giver and the receiver. I worked in the Math Department, as either a tutor or a Teaching Assistant, for the past three years. As a Teaching Assistant I led a 50 minute recitation of the material, graded materials, and kept records for my 30 students. As a tutor I helped MSU undergraduates learn key concepts and study for their upcoming exams. I worked in the Algebra room and the Calc I room. I helped out a little in the Calc II room, but I never had time, as a full time student myself, to review the material and refresh my memory, so I was much less helpful than I should have been.
I love teaching because I love passing on knowledge. I believe anyone can learn anything they want, it just takes us all different lengths of time and effort to achieve our educational goals.
