I love to incorporate art and sensory experiences into everything I do to really activate the brain. The "Drill and Kill" is very rarely appropriate, so I tailor every approach individually. What works for one student may not work with another. Psychology Professor/Reading Specialist

Over 25 years of teaching experience (all grade levels ~ from preschool to university graduate level courses). I enjoy tutoring, as it allows me to work one-on-one with a student to best assess their strengths and weaknesses in order to help them reach their goals. My doctoral work in Educational Psychology has given me a unique advantage in incorporating learning theory with applied teaching techniques. My clinical psychology experience and educational background has prepared me well for all forms of educational assessment. My post-Master's reading education work and research keeps me current on how best to diagnose and remediate reading comprehension and fluidity concerns. As an assistant psychology professor at the community college level, I am currently conducting my doctoral dissertation research on reading comprehension for this student population.
