My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : The evolution of Microsoft Excel from its beginning is phenomenal. With its progress comes our capabilities. Gain an understanding of its formulas or make your own.

My teaching style is comfortable. I want to be comfortable and I want my students. If everyone is comfortable and not tensed up there's the possibility for a lot more learning. I try to let students learn at their pace. And in the case of the Microsoft Office products I prefer students use their own data as to learn the product and how it relates to them.
I've taught in the corporate environment. I've taught in the college environment. And I've been a personal computer consultant. I've taught "Intro to Computers" online. When I teach on any level and in any environment the focus is on how the student. Therefore, the cornerstone of all of my teaching experiences is that I speak in English rather than in computerese.

I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. My teaching style is casual and hands-on. I start with a discussion of the subject matter from a big picture perspective, to underscore the significance of the issue from an overall business management perspective. I move on to a discussion of definitions and fundamental concepts. I tend to communicate graphically, and enjoy drawing diagrams and charts. Next, I would move into an example illustrating the concept using very simple numbers.
