A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a passion for teaching and helping to educate people. I have earned a BS in Business Administration and a MS in Accounting. Through my education and experience I have an extensive set of business and grammar skills. I have completed four years of Latin and enjoyed it. During high school I took AP History and Government and past the AP Exam. I enjoy studying for Test Prep and enjoy helping students achieve their goals. I have tutored students for many years and enjoy working with students.
I want to help and make a difference in each student that I tutor. I like to reach out to all of my students. I learn each of my students name and have them see that I want them to well. I also feel that students should be given assignments to work on during class and not lectured the entire time.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with children and helping them meet academic goals. As a tutor my job would be to find out how a child learns best. Learning styles can include auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Children also need engaging,interesting, and varied activities during their learning experiences. Another key point would be to identify strengths and weaknesses and to build a plan based on that information. I feel that all children can succeed.
I have been teaching middle school science for the past eight years at a local Middle School. My endorsement is in biology. For the past four years I have been enrolled in a master's degree program in reading at ODU. This May I will graduate from that program. My goal is to teach reading and work with struggling readers. I am also qualified to tutor biology.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an educator, I have learned that not all children are the same and they all learn at different paces. I create a plethora of activites to reach each child where they are. I use visual, auditory, and hands on activities to help reach them build and imporve skills.
I have earned a bachelors in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Education Management. A year ago, I had the honor of substituting as an Assistant Teacher with an amazing kindergarten teacher. I learned then that she maintains her respect and passion for her career by following this mantra: "I need to understand my students come to me in the morning having already experienced some kind of morning of their own at home. I don’t know what that morning was like, but I can tell when it’s been a bad one. Teaching is not a job for me, it is what defines me. I have been teaching for over 13 years and still desire to do nothing else.
