Multi-subject tutoring: maths, Chinese, English

I've had previous experience tutoring, mainly working with kids aged from 7 to 15. I used to be a part-time teacher in an English as a second language institute for a year. Conducting engaging and informative lessons is my passion, and I love to see people improve after they take my class. I have a solid background in maths, and I can also tutor elementary physics and chemistry. I will be able to conduct lessons in areas such as science, English, and since I'm a Chinese student, I can also teach Chinese(mandarin). Teaching Chinese and maths is my strength. I have been learning the piano for 8 years, so I can do any elementary piano-related tutoring as well.

First I like to try to ask them where they are having trouble or watch them do some problems to see where they are having troubles. Where I find the problem I would show them the correct ways to approach a problem and prove it to them or use other methods to help them understand how the concepts work. I'm a good listener and very patient with students. Also with my computer science background, especially in statistics related applications, I can make demonstrations do demonstrate or even solve problems.
I often helped people with their math regardless if it was 3rd grade or college level. I'm always offering my help to friends around the area or even online. Through out the years I have taught 5-8th graders in various subjects, as well as helped teach for a national board review company to chiropractic students all over the country in a variety of topics. I was also the editor-in-chief for the Palmer Triune, helping me obtain an excellent understanding and appreciation for the English language.
My teaching style is different for each student. I have never considered myself a student that things come easy to. I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way. Since this is my area of expertise, I am able to come up with examples on the fly that will target the areas most troublesome to the student. Mathematics is a field that requires repetition but making that repetition as interesting as possible is a fun challenge. I do not wish to be a teacher by profession but I do enjoy helping individuals or small groups with science and mathematics.
I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me.
