My tutoring career began as an honors research student in college. I shared my skills and passion for French and history in plain and easy to grasp concepts that even helped "non-language" types to succeed. Furthering my foundation in teaching methods I pursued my Master's degree in teaching a second language while serving as a graduate. I accepted a fellowship to teach middle school and high school on the French speaking island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean for one year where I taught English conversation and American Culture. After returning to the United States, I taught high school Italian and am currently teaching 7th grade French.

I like to take a student-centered, holistic approach to education, creating a learning environment where children feel safe to take risks, are respected for their individuality and level of development, and where their inherent potential is recognized and encouraged.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I attended and graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I moved to Germany in 1995, spending time learning German and teaching part-time at the International School of Hamburg. In 1998, I started a one-year, full-time contract, teaching a pre-kindergarten class. After that, I returned to New Jersey, where I worked for 3 years before being offered a permanent position at the International School again in 2002, which I accepted. As a college graduate, I value the importance of education. I've earned a bachelor degree- a Bs in Biology where I've gained knowledge of science and math. In addition, I also have a Teacher's Certification for Elementary Education in a Hebrew school setting from Midrashah Junior College. Over the past 12 years, I've tutored students in basic Hebrew, Bar and Bat Mitzvah practice, elementary, and middle school math and science.
I have a passion for helping children! Each child learns in a different way, and as teachers it is our job to meet the student where they are. I am patient, and helpful, while still pushing the student to do their best. My goal is to help students develop a love for learning.
