I am a life-long learner, currently in the final year of my Doctoral program in Business Administration. I have over 20 years of accounting experience in industries ranging from CPA firms through manufacturing and hospitality. I have been an online instructor for the University of Phoenix since July 2004, I also taught their Flexnet program (first and last week on ground in front of the students, remaining four weeks online). The epiphany moment when the student understands the material is what has created the drive to continue teaching and chase the Doctorate degree. I am patient and dedicated to teaching the student not just math, but also to use their own textbook and resources to study on their own. When I tutor, I have another goal, second to having the student pass their math class: learning to study so they won't need to rely on a tutor. I also have a flexible schedule, and can easily adapt to the student's learning style.
In high school, I learned to love the formulaic simplicity of algebra and during my years at UAF, learned to fully appreciate the beauty and tricky complexity of Calculus. I enjoy extending this appreciation and understanding to anyone willing to ask. My first tutoring experience was for an adult first-time algebra student at UAA.
