I love teaching as a facilitator. I want my students to be engaged and explore in the classroom. I actively seek ways to meet the needs of all students; I feel that each has something to offer. I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. I know I have the ability to make the subject relative to the child in a way that is both easy-to-understand, yet effective. I am extremely patient, enthuastic, and truly love the subject of English. The idea of helping a child who struggles with English or just doesn't like it in general appeals to me greatly. I have earned four degrees from Louisiana Tech University, a B.A. in History with a double major in Political Science (2007), a B.A. in English with a minor in Cultural Resources (2007), a Post-Bacc in Technical Communication (2008), and an M. A. in History (2011). Through research in these areas, I believe that I am qualified to tutor in history, political science, English literature, grammar, geography, rudimentary geology, and rudimentary archeology. In addition to scholarship, I have four years of experience at the Louisiana Tech University Data Mining Research Laboratory (DMRL), where I teach students and researchers how to write academic documents.
