Experienced math tutor

I believe that all students can learn with a patient tutor. Many of my students find math frustrating but I have the ability to break all concepts down to the most basic elements and build from there. I also encourage questions and being comfortable asking questions to facilitate the learning experience. I have tutored math and history for years at all levels from middle school through college. In 1999-2000, I provided highly individualized, one-on-one instruction in the client's homes while working with a local tutoring company. I am an experienced educator and state certified instructor with impeccable credentials and a heartfelt enthusiasm for teaching. More recently, I have tutored adults participating in an Adult Literacy Program. I assisted them in their GED preparation in Math and helped them set and reach their short-term educational goals. Although I do not have a degree in Education, I have years of experience as a teaching assistant, teacher, tutor and curriculum designer. My experience mostly focuses on helping students improve their writing skills, but I also work with students with their reading comprehension since they go hand in hand. I have taught composition at the community college level which enables me to help students with papers at all levels from basic exposition to research methodology and citation format.
