A Little Bit About Me...

In one form or another, I have been in a university setting for 18 years and for the last five years, I have been a columnist, writer and teacher in several capacities as a university reading and writing consultant, a public school substitute, an introduction to literature professor, a reporter and columnist, a film/music editor, a writing strategies professor, and a composition and rhetoric instructor. Currently, I am pursuing a MFA in Documentary Filmmaking and Media studies at the University of North Texas where I also teach introduction to Radio, Television, and Film writing as well as assistant teach for a class entitled Theory and Critical Studies. This is my second time tutoring and my first time was a great experience. It was stressful a first but after I formed a bond with those I tutored, everything else was simple. In high school, Math as never my strongest subjects, and it still isn't unless its Elementary Math. I had to take ALGEBA 1 three times! Any History subject and Language Arts is my strongest areas. A Little Bit About Me...

Despite a demanding, accelerated academic schedule, during my three years at a competitive private college I voluntarily tutored underprivileged elementary students. In earning my BA in Sociology/Anthropology I became well versed on understanding people from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. I also have a strong background in the social sciences including social studies, history and language arts. My college major also required that I write numerous papers and helped me to develop a strong writing style, as well as a keen understanding of grammar.
