A Little Bit About Me...

When I had the opportunity to design and teach a Vo-Tech. School program from the ground up, I realized my love and passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of my students. Being semi-retired with lots of time available, I am living out my passion by substitute teaching middle and high school students in my local school district. With a rich science and english background, I feel I can make a difference by helping those less fortunate academically in many areas.
I have a passion for teaching students of all ages, especially 4th grade and up. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is probably best described as interactive. I encourage students to not only read the assignment and the assigned homework, but to question the validity of the issues being discussed, including what the author has written. By having student examine the issues and using critical thinking, they become better academics, but develop the ability to think outside of the box
Over the course of my career, I have taught at just about every level, from middle school to graduate school. I initially started teaching computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. My area of study is really in history and social studies where I worked with students on improving their composition and essay writing skills as well as organization and study skills for adolescents and adults. As a cum laude graduate with my Masters in Counseling I am very much driven and motivated to help and assist others in their endeavors to achieve and do well. I have had several years of tutoring elementary students in math and reading. I have been effective at it and welcome the opportunity to do it again.
I enjoy teaching and working with children and watching them learn and grow. I value education and believe that a good education is crucial.
