I spent several years in Omaha teaching creative writing at the High School and College level, giving classes at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Tech. The program was called Writing Floes. The basic idea is that our ideas are frozen in the oceans of our unconscious minds. Music melts the ice. The goal is to get both hemispheres of the brain in the room at the same time.

Poetry is one of my top subjects! My poetry has been published in writing journals and quarterlies. I also have extensive experience working with college level students on their poetry.

I began teaching at eighteen. I’d just graduated high school and wasn’t ready for college, so I worked as a personal trainer at a gym within jogging distance of my house.
