I can teach/tutor pretty much any subject ages K-college. I have also worked in the Writing Lab at Clayton State College. I feeel very qualified for this job.
I love children of all ages, including Middle School and Highschool. I do not alweats go by the book. I do what I feel is best for that particular child's learning style. I teach outside the box and encourage learning rather than straight memorization. I help children love learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

It is my belief that I do not truly master subjects until I can teach it to others. Thus, I view tutoring as an essential component of the learning process. With respect to my tenure as a tutor in the community of Tuskegee, Alabama and on-campus,this has certainly been the case. From helping to ease students of their confusion in the laboratory, to leading review sessions in front of spacious lecture halls, my experiences as a tutor have augmented my interpersonal as well as technical skills. The responsibilities inherent to tutoring have motivated me to enhance my knowledge, question my preconceptions, and strengthen my understanding of intergrated sciences and reading material.
Tutoring has taught me that perseverance and patience are the keys to tackling tough situations, and I try to pass that along to others. I am very versatile when it comes to teaching various age groups. I ... read more

More About This Tutor...

As an undergraduate, I was selected to be a tutor in the on-campus tutoring center, where I tutored students in all the sciences. This was where I discovered my talent and passion for tutoring and teaching. After college, I worked part-time as a para-professional tutor for a local junior college. Once I married and started a family, I used my MS in Biology to its full advantage by working part-time as an adjunct professor in Biology for local colleges.
I find that most students just don't know how to study Biology. I like to assess the students' familiarity and background with the subject and then discuss study options. Some people resond to flash cards, others to practice tests, and still more to oral quizzing. Maybe it needas to be a combination, but we work until we find a system that works. Then we tackle the subject material.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the keys to teaching and tutoring are patience and encouragement. Everyone has their strong areas and their weak areas. However, I do believe that each student can get through any subject with the right methods. I believe that if one method is unsuccessful, then we try something new until we find what works for that particular student. With patience and perseverence, I fervently believe that all students can achieve their highest goals.
At the beginning of my junior high year, I began to seriously wonder what I would do as an adult. My tenth grade year gave me the answer. I instantly loved Biology and because of a generous and wonderful teacher who was patient and explained all the things I could do in the Biology field, I knew this was my nitch. I went on the graduate with a degree in Biology, and minor in Chemistry, a Master's degree in Biology, and am currently working ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been involved with tutoring at a very young age. I remember being in elementary school reading to the younger children that could not read. I am an advocate of every child receiving a fair chance at success in education. I have earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Cellular Biology, enabling me to gain a thorough appreciation of math and science at all levels. In addition I have tutored students in several different aspects of these subjects including physical science, biology and algebra. Former students of mine have successfully passed both the CRCT and Georgia High School Standards tests in math and science.
As a trained research scientist I consider myself a liaison between the scientific genre and the student. My experience performing research as well as assisting with college courses such as an Introduction to Laboratory Techniques an ... read more
