My teaching methods are flexible, as different students require different strategies to be successful. While tutoring, I prefer working through example problems to demonstrate the meaning and application of various concepts. I am patient, and I try to be creative in my approach to explaining difficult material. I engage students as much as possible while helping them, and try to keep lessons interesting and to the point. I love to answer questions, and I think it's important to encourage questions about anything that may be unclear. A Little Bit About Me...

During my undergraduate career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, I obtained a wealth of knowledge in the fields of math and science. I did this by striving for excellence in the classroom and participating in cutting edge research with professors in the Entomology and Organic Chemistry departments. My extensive knowledge of the subjects I’ve studied has allowed me to assist my friends in understanding complex and difficult problems. This past year I privately tutored classmates in both Statistics and Organic Chemistry.
I believe the best way for someone to learn something is through application and repetition. As both a tutor and youth lacrosse coach I have had success by teaching my students how to approach problems rather than simply giving them answers. I am extremely patient and am very willing to take alternative approaches in helping a student learn.
