I am a special education teacher with 6 credit hours to go until I have earned my Master in Adaptive Special Education. I student taught 5th grade, was a middle school special education para for the remainder of that school year once I earned my Bachelor's then transitioned into 2-4th grade adaptive Math, and all Language Arts. I enjoy using visuals and technology to reach students, keep them engaged, motivated, and enrich their learning. I enjoy teaching about social studies, history, art, and other subjects that I believe create a better rounded student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in a higher education environment since 2000. I tuaught CPR and First Aid classes for 4 years for Child Care providers from 1996 to 2000. I am one class from completing my MBA in accounting. I will officially graduate in May of 2010.
I developed a heart for young people at an early age, as my parents were missionaries to Native Americans. I truly believe that education has changed my life and promote higher education. I am able to relate to children of all ages and in the past two years especially related to high school and young college students who were looking for their way in life.

I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. I have been a pastoral minister for 25 years, have taught refugees English as a Second Language, have taught community college courses as an adjunct instructor, have taught innumerable courses within the congregations I have served, including an after school tutoring program for young children. I am competent to tutor in English (all levels), history, and social sciences and love interacting with students.
I love interacting with children and teenagers.
