Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. Many of the students I trained were sent by their employers. So often, the student’s frame of mind wasn’t the most open to the learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor degree in Chemistry from Colorado College and I have also taken a large number of math courses at the undergraduate level (Calculus 1, 2, and 3, Linear Algebra, number theory, and mathematical models in biology). I have worked as a college tutor for 2 years while completing my degree and I currently teach middle school science.
I believe in inquiry based learning where students learn new things by forming questions that they want to answer. When working on a problem I encourage students to come up with questions that they want to answer, to make lists of things they need to know, and then to think of an attack plan to complete the math or science problem.
