My comments on tutoring Government : I have my B.A. in History and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. It would be juxtaposed if anyone claimed to understand government, but I consider myself well versed.

I am a newly grad from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; I earned my B.A. in History and a minor in philosophy. I maintained a 3.5 GPA and had the honor of being selected to study abroad at the University of Puerto Rico while writing my senior thesis on the socioeconomic conflicts of Puerto Rico's independence movement. I will be pursuing my Master's degree next fall, continuing the path of academia. I relate well to students because I am a lifelong student. Also I am a husband and a proud parent of three children. I am experienced at running a healthy household where academics reign supreme; dictatorship is often avoided under the guide of homework being an opportunity to show off. Kids find that fun. I am also aware of the challenges of parenting because I too am a parent.
There is not progress without dedication; there is no dedication without interest. I spark inte ... read more

I have been teaching guitar lessons for a year now. I have just graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. In my education at CSU I have also acquired six credit hours in education classes and observed 60 hours in public schools.
In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. We all learn differently whether we are auditory, visual, or kinesthetic learners. I asses the student and provide the material/exercises necessary in order to create the best learning experience possible.

I have recently retired from the U.S. Army as a medic. During my service, I was frequently responsible for both formal and informal teaching and training. I learned to easily adapt to various learning styles, learning barriers, and researching subjects. While still in the service, I utilized my lunch breaks and evenings to further my education and emerged with my AA and completed Nurse Assistant training while still serving and my BS only one year later; two months after retiring. Currently, I am working on my MS in Health Promotion with a certificate in Disaster in Public Health. I am capable of producing a lesson and effectively teaching any subject.
I am very adaptive. I accept challenges warmly. I love working with children; I teach at my church at the elementary level weekly. I also enjoy working with adults in a non-threatening way. I am a patient person and know tha ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

My introduction to teaching occurred when I was selected by two university departments to be a Graduate Assistant. Among my many duties were the presentation of classes and the grading of papers. As an officer in the United States Army I have been responsible for training and teaching at many levels. As a new lieutenant I directly supervised the training of a team of nine young soldiers. In my latest military position the documents that my organization created will affect the training of thousands of soldiers over several decades. In my position as a licensed secondary school level teacher I presented classes through lecture format in the Socratic style. In order to touch on multiple intelligences I extensively use many different projects to stimulate the student's thought and knowledge application processes. I have tutored many subjects but feel that I am strongest in mathemati ... read more

Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. Many of the students I trained were sent by their employers. So often, the student’s frame of mind wasn’t the most open to the learning experience. By presenting the content in a light-hearted manner, the stress levels were reduced considerably! Hence, we were able to more effectively deliver the desired knowledge with greater retention. Consequently, I prefer a teaching style that puts the student at ease while we ... read more

I am a holistic teacher who likes for students to experience the subject. For example I would have student immerse themselves into the subject of history and complete a project and present it to the other students. It was really successful and had students waiting all year.
When working towards my teaching certification I was in many classrooms from Kindergarten to 12th Grade in Pueblo School District 60. After graduation I applied and got a teaching job and I taught at Skyview Middle School in District 49 for 4 years teaching Ancient Civilizations. While working toward my master's degree, I started working in a high school as a para-professional. I also studied a lot of physical and social sciences, which I feel are my stong points.
I love working with children and my goal in life is to teach elementary level students. I do not give up in finding ways to reach children of all ages. I have also assisted my sons and their friends with school work and study skills.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, I received an education focusing on critical thinking and writing, but also heavily steeped in math, science, and engineering as well. All graduates are required to take 5 semesters of math (through Calculus and Differential Equations), a year each of chemistry and physics, and 6 semesters of engineering classes regardless of major. During my Naval career, I served as a Training and Readiness officer as well as various instructor positions. For the past eight years my wife and I have homeschooled our three children in all aspects of traditional education.
My career regularly involves conveying very complicated and technical ideas to people in as clear and simple a manner as possible. I take personal pride in doing what is necessary to present the subject matter in a way that the student will understand. I believe ... read more
