My comments on tutoring Government : I have my B.A. in History and a minor in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. It would be juxtaposed if anyone claimed to understand government, but I consider myself well versed.

I am a newly grad from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs; I earned my B.A. in History and a minor in philosophy. I maintained a 3.5 GPA and had the honor of being selected to study abroad at the University of Puerto Rico while writing my senior thesis on the socioeconomic conflicts of Puerto Rico's independence movement. I have been teaching guitar lessons for a year now. I have just graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo with my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. In my education at CSU I have also acquired six credit hours in education classes and observed 60 hours in public schools.
In my experience as a musician, I have found that teaching a subject I love can really inspire students to excel. It's necessary to spread our knowledge to others. My specialty is music, but I love to teach in general because kids need good mentors. Each child is different so I use an individualized approach to my teaching styles. As an officer in the United States Army I have been responsible for training and teaching at many levels. As a new lieutenant I directly supervised the training of a team of nine young soldiers. Three teachers impacted my life not only as a result of the content of their classes but in their delivery. All three approached learning as an adventure. Even though the topics ranged from sixth grade mathematics to fluid dynamics each teacher keyed their presentation on the reception of the students. If the first presentation didn’t get the topic across an alternative presentation was made, often in a humorous vein. Students were never allowed to feel inadequate. Many of the students I trained were sent by their employers. So often, the student’s frame of mind wasn’t the most open to the learning experience.
