A Little Bit About Me...

While biology has remained my main passion, I have learned that a good understanding of all subjects is necessary to succeed in academics. A scientist cannot replicate an experiment if they can’t read the papers or understand the statistics used. For this reason, when I teach, I emphasize the practice of multiple skills to achieve understanding in any one subject. I focus on teaching techniques that work well with all types of learners, particularly hands-on activities. It is my belief that learning should be exciting, not a tedious chore. I believe all children have the ability/aptitude to learn the information given to them, but it's the way that information is presented that will stay with your child forever. I feel it is my job to not only present this same information to your child in a new way, but to, in essence, teach your child how to learn and teach themselves. Almost all Math processes can be broken down into steps, and putting those steps together, like climbing stairs, will get your child to the top.

A Little Bit About Me...

I started tutoring math when I attended Faulkner State College. I then attended the University of South Alabama where I tutored math and physics. I have tutored all levels of math and also tutored not only physics, but lab activites as well.
I have always been a quick learner when it comes to mathematics. It is something that comes almost natural to me. With that said, I understand that this is not the case for everyone. I feel that a good majority of people hate math because they don't understand math, and because they don't understand math right away, they don't try to understand it. I had a wise professor once tell me, "Math isn't difficult; there is no such thing as difficult math. It just seems difficult because you haven't learned it yet". I think math can be easy for anyone, they just have to learn it first.
