I have volunteered for United Way as a mentor for 1.5 years and a tutor for the Sulzbacher center for a semester and a half for the Jacksonville area in Florida. I have enjoyed encouraging them to see a subject that they have no interest in in a new way. It is a joy to see them learn from that subject and improve in academics.

I have sixteen years of experience teaching science to middle and high school students. I've taught Earth-space science, Biology(Life Science), and Physical Science. I also have experience teaching English composition and Algebra(trigonometry). In addition, I experienced success teaching students that had been previously unsuccessfull in mastering grade level science, English,and math due to low motivation and self-esteem. I was a substitute teacher in the Folsom Cordova School District in California during the 2007-2008 school year. I am currently working a substitute teacher in the Flagler County, Florida School District. I have worked as an engineer for 3M, ITW, Medtronic, and Waste Management. I have two patents. The first is developing a bio-stable polyurethane that potentially be used as an implantable material. The second was a membrane that filters out radioactive ions out of waste streams.
