My comments on tutoring Spelling : None of my English classes were allowed to halt their spelling practices. As a result, my students had the highest results on state tests in this area of their verbal.

I combine various styles from "old school" to best practices to differentiated offers.
I have taught nearly all areas of language arts including, but not limited to, ECA/GQE remediation, SAT/ACT prep, beginning-intermediate-advance composition, AP English/literature, poetry, American literature, British literature, drama, speech, and school newspaper. I have found that if a child is having trouble in a given subject, the first thing a teacher needs to do is access the child’s learning style. All children learn differently and if a child is having problems it is often because the information has only been presented one way. Therefore the material needs to be presented in various ways until the student learns it by which ever method works best for them.
