I am a Creativity Consultant and use a wide variety of teaching styles in my classes and individual sessions, including lectures, demonstrations, mind mapping, freeflow writing, focusing, and intuitive problem solving. I am a dynamic teacher who has a gift for inspiring, empowering and motivating children of all ages.
For 26 years, I have presented my writing and expressive arts classes in California, Washington State and North Carolina. I have been a substitute teacher and tutor in Language Arts, biological sciences, social sciences, math, mind mapping and study skills. I have offered staff presentations for teachers in whole brain learning, the seven intelligences and creative thinking. I have led reading groups and Language Arts classes. I have taught music lessons to a variety of ages and I have taught Music Theory and History at the collegiate level. My mother has been a teacher for 35 years and I have always enjoyed helping her in the classroom. I have a Master of Music and Professional Artist Certificate from the North Carolina School of the Arts.

My teaching style involves recognizing concepts that the person does find interesting to help them relate to and understand what they are trying to learn. I earned my BS in Biology at a liberal arts school. My education has given me a scientific training that is bolstered with an in depth knowledge of the humanities. Through my education and personal interests I have studied music, poetry, literature, math and natural history. I have striven to integrate these arts with my scientific background. My interests and education have given me extensive training in both math and english; including practice in scientific writing (lab reports and grant writing) and artistic writing (poetry, poetry analyses, and music analyses.
