In science and math the learner has to practice much like learning to play a musical instrument. It helps if you can bring real world applications into the classroom so it is meaningful to the students otherwise they feel like they are learning something just for the cause of learning.
While completing my teaching degree I taught for three years with troubled youth. Subjects were regents level and the subject was earth science and algebra or course I as it is called in NY. I like to believe I have the ability to speak with all children and teenagers in a way they can understand. I feel like I can take something that may look like an unsolvable 1,000 piece puzzle and turn it into something that will start looking like a 200 piece puzzle. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of Marywood University 2010 with a degree in Mathematics/Secondary Education. For two years I participated in an Academic Excellence program at Marywood. My position was a math tutor at a "drop-in" center. It was here that my peers could come at anytime to be tutored in any mathematics subject. I recently completed a semester of student teaching at Valley View High School, where I taught 9th grade algebra and 10th grade geometry, and at Dunmore Middle School, where I taught 8th grade algebra and pre-algebra.
